Back when I was a little camper, the choice of programs was simple. You
did a horseback-riding program or non-horseback riding programs, with
or without bicycles, for one, two, or four weeks, and that was all.
And we used our ancient latrines, and we ate our floating lunches at
the pool after swimming out after them, even if they got wet, and we
were darn grateful! Anyway. In the summer of 2003, quite a few new
programs were added, and many existing programs were renamed and
redefined. This list was taken directly from the 2012 issue of "A Girl
Scout Summer." All grade levels reflect the campers' grade in the upcoming school year.

being potential staff member. These programs include an
evaluation process which includes a written test.
A bike and helmet in good condition is required for this program.
These four-week programs have a weekend break in the
middle of the sessions (June 22–24 and July 20–22). To be

and attend a personal interview.
She And Me (grades 1-6)

campfire, the tranquility of the lake while sitting in a canoe, the
cool water at the pool, make a craft, and gaze at the twinkling
stars together. Adults must be at least 18 years old. Girls may
share tents with their guest or with other girls.
Troop Camp "A"wesome (grades 1-9)
Back by popular demand! Don’t miss this great opportunity
to bring your daughter with you to training. While you are
training, the camp staff will make sure your daughter(s) have
a great time enjoying camp activities such as swimming,
making arts and crafts, building campfires and canoeing. This
session will begin in mid-afternoon on Friday and conclude
in the early afternoon on Sunday. You must be present the
entire time to receive your Troop Camp A certification.
Note: Parents and daughters will reunite at bedtime each
evening. (Men will sleep in separate accommodations in the
unit.) Space is limited to 2 girls per adults.
One thing that's important to keep in mind is that even the specialty programs all do normal camp activities. Everyone does arts and crafts, nature, hikes, cookouts, campouts, swimming, canoeing, sports, games, singing, and more. Any program that begins with grade 4 or higher may potentially offer horseback riding and archery, but programs with younger girls will not. One-week programs (with the exception of Hoofin' It, and Pony Party's pony ride) do not include horseback riding, even for older campers. For more information on the WIT/AWIT and CIT programs, see their specific pages.
